5×7 rainbow life draw comes with pages in colors of blue, red, yellow, orange, and purple. There is a mixture of flower, spiral, butterfly, abstract, life drawing via zoom, and photo reference life drawing mixed media creations in this sketchbook.

This rainbow of pages started in 2007 with some flower, spiral, and butterfly play with mixed media exploration using ink pens, gel pens, pastel, charcoal, and markers. I stopped that doodling play time in this sketchbook a few years later and shelved it. Those images have been moved to my flower subdomain to keep this page focused on the life drawings in this sketchbook.

I started adding some of my life drawing work into the pages of this colorful sketchbook in 2023. I was running out of pages in some sketchbooks and didn’t want to buy any new ones until I had filled all the pages in other sketchbooks that still had plenty of usable pages. I was also trying to challenge myself with smaller sizes instead of always using larger formats.

I continued with my mixed media exploration in this sketchbook now using acrylic and alcohol ink as well as pastel, conte, charcoal, and graphite . I was pleasantly surprised by the results with the acrylic and alcohol ink. I was also excited about the results of using the colored paper instead of the standard white. The life drawing images begin with the red pages.

The image above is the acrylic gel print process phase before the pastel and charcoal layer is added. I really loved the abstract of the figure that the print process created. I have only tried this particular technique once, so far. The final image is below.

Some images have also been used to created digital art. After the color section of pages in the sketchbook, shown below, are some of the digital creations that are derived from these images.
